Matt brings more than three decades of executive and governance experience across Australia, the United States and international settings, spanning the community, humanitarian and cultural sectors.

For 14 years, he served as President and CEO of the National WWI Museum and Memorial in the United States, leading a major institutional transformation that secured more than A$160 million in philanthropic support through two capital campaigns, came through the pandemic without staff layoffs, and strengthened the Museum and Memorial's position as one of the country's most significant civic and cultural institutions.

Previously, Matt served for nine years as President and CEO of Outreach International, leading community-led humanitarian programs across 14 countries. Earlier in his career, he held senior executive roles in Australia across community services, values-led and faith-based organisations. After 24 years in the United States, he returned to the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, bringing together Australian roots, extensive US executive experience and a longstanding international perspective.

His background spans the social sciences, philanthropy and governance. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Certified Fund Raising Executive. Having sat on both sides of the board table, as a CEO accountable to a board and as a board chair responsible for governance, he brings a practical understanding of executive leadership, board dynamics and organisational accountability to every engagement.
